Katy Hartman is Vice President of Research and Development. Katy holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT. She has researched Earth-abundant thin film photovoltaic materials such as SnS and CZTS, and dislocation density reduction in multicrystalline silicon wafers. In addition to working in the Photovoltaics Research Lab at MIT, she has also interned at Evergreen Solar.
Les Fritzemeier is founder and CEO. Les is a 10+ year solar industry veteran with 30 years of successful business development and product commercialization experience, having taken three independent products from concept to production. His experience includes twelve years in aerospace power systems and seven years in electric power industry product development. He founded solar cell developer Wakonda Technologies in 2005, where he led the successful development of specialized solar arrays for the U.S. Army. Wakonda was acquired in 2012. Les is an advisor to several thin film materials companies, holds 25 U.S. Patents, D.E.Sc. from Columbia University and MBA from California Lutheran University.
Michael Everman, Co-founder and strategic partner is founder and CTO at Bell-Everman Inc. Mike is expert in product design, precision motion control and manufacturing systems development. Bell-Everman is Tessolar’s strategic partner for the development of automated manufacturing systems.
Jaco Pretorius is founder and CTO. Jaco has 20+ years experience in R&D, product development and manufacturing of materials and in capital equipment development. He currently acts as a Director of BlueWave Capital where he has international large scale PV power plant development responsibility. Jaco has also worked in aerospace, electric power equipment and semiconductor manufacturing industries. He holds a M.Sc in Engineering and Management from MIT.
